We are making tremendous progress at Mill District with our first phase of residential construction well underway. Next up: A whole lot of concrete to create the foundational slab and ground-floor walls.

As subterranean work continues at Canopy, the luxury residences that will rise behind the ring of redwood trees along Healdsburg Avenue, crews are getting ready to install rebar—the steel rods that go inside the floor and walls that form the foundations of the buildings.

Things are going down at the Mill District site and we mean that literally. Earlier this month our crews started excavating dirt to create the subterranean footprint for our Canopy buildings.

After years of preparations, construction on Mill District, Healdsburg’s newest neighborhood, officially began this month with excavation for the underground parking areas. We have kicked off with two new players in mission-critical roles: a new director of design and construction to oversee and monitor day-to-day progress, and a new general contractor to get the work done.

The Flats comprise the greatest number of residences we’re building at Canopy, the first phase of residential at Mill District, and we’ve just released new renderings that give homeowners and potential neighbors an idea of how spectacular we think they will be.

Swing by the Mill District site these days and all may seem quiet at one end, at the other end we continue to build The Exchange. In the coming weeks, at the north end, large-scale construction will begin, and our new neighborhood will begin to take shape quickly.

We are very pleased to announce that Canopy at Mill District has been approved by the California Department of Real Estate (DRE) to now accept Purchase and Sale Agreements.

We’re big on self-reflection here at Mill District, and there’s no better time to look back on accomplishments than at the end of a year.

For the last few months at Mill District, crews have been working to get roadways and sidewalks completed. The push to complete this work has two main benefits: It reduces risk of muddy water entering the storm drain system (creeks), and it provides construction vehicles with all weather access to future work zones.

Big changes are underway at the Mill District site: At some point in the next year, we will be demolishing what we lovingly refer to as the Mill District Gathering Space – the last standing shed buildings of this almost century old lumber mill.
