Hello From the Open Road

The King family (Laura, Hazel our new son Hayden and me) are wrapping up a two month stint on the road in our van. We’re somewhere in the middle of America heading east, but we’ve had the good fortune of riding our bikes in fantastic spots all across the country—Whitefish, Seattle, Sun Valley, Park City, all over Colorado and yet, we’re still dreaming of Healdsburg’s world class road riding in the fall. Plus, let’s be honest, we just opened a bottle of Sonoma red the other night and were reminded of the enjoyment of pairing our rides with some of the best wines in the country.

We’ll be leading rides from the Mill District from the beginning of November through mid November and we have some fun projects and rides on tap. Spring is already top of mind where we’ll have a very full calendar and new programming to announce.

A survey was sent this past summer and we wanted to thank you all for your positive and thoughtful feedback as we work to determine what an ideal community for cyclists looks like in Sonoma County. Together with the Mill District, we hope to continue to shape Mill District Velo to be a destination and cycling hub that draws folks together. If you ever want to chat, feel free to share your thoughts with Laura or me as this project means a lot to us.

Looking forward to sharing the roads with you in November,

Ted

Jess isn’t one to talk about herself, but she has many stories to share while guiding our Mill District rides–so don’t be shy to ask her questions.

Cooking with Chef Accarrino

We love pairing our rides with good food and drink. Chef Matthew Accarrino is someone who shares that affinity and you’ll often find him at Mill District rides sprinting away from the group ride to ensure that lunch is finished in time for the rider’s return.
